Daler-Rowney Simply Willow Charcoal 12 Pack

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product was worth the money and was very good quality The product has got to be my favourite purchase from hobby-craft as of the quality, non of the pieces of charcoal was broke and it was perfect for my first use. I needed the charcoal for my art sketchbook for my coursework towards my gcse next year in art, the charcoal which I bought was very worth the money and I’m pleased it worked out the way it did!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good selection from a well known brand Having not used charcoal since my teens (now 64) and having taken up drawing again during lockdown I wanted to give it a try. This selection was ideal as it gave small, medium and larger pieces to use. The price was very reasonable and the make a well known brand so it was perfect. I loved using it! Will definitely be back for more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good good fun-easy to slip into childhood days of drawing in art classes-nice effect achieved, and items were v reasonably priced-life's simple items/ideas are usually retained for a good reason

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok for beginners Used with kids in an art club. They withstood being used by heavy handed 11 year olds (I snapped the charcoal into shorter pieces before they used them to avoid them being broken into tiny unusable sizes by the kids). However, they don’t provide as much coverage on paper as I’d hoped. Good for beginners too experiment with as they aren’t very expensive, but, if you want a darker, denser charcoal medium, I would go for compressed charcoal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely charcoal I love using willow charcoal and I like the fact you can not only draw with it you can grind it to a dust and paint with it. Unfortunately some of my charcoal in one packet got damaged but I was going to grind it anyway. If you haven't before used it give it a try as it's not expensive and as far as getting your hands dirty - good old soap and water does the trick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this charcoal This willow charcoal is really nice to use. It goes on the paper with no effort and it can be moved around with ease, to achieve beautiful shading and tones. It can be removed very easily with an ordinary eraser or putty rubber. I like to use it in conjunction with compressed charcoal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value and decent to work with too Well it's charcoal, it does what it says on the tin. I use it to start oil paintings and it goes onto the canvas quite smoothly, although it does get ground away quickly, but then it will do used as I do. Really do like the choice of sizes in the pack

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good variety of sizes Hidden inside the box are a few plastic sleeves with small, medium and large size pieces of charcoal which I was happy to find as I couldn't tell from the outside what thicknesses were in the box but I was happy to see a good range sorted well.
