With eight pastes included in the set, you will also get a free colour guide, helping you to get the most out of every paste. It gives you advice on mixing colours and provides a handy colour wheel that features the ratios you'll need to achieve each perfect shade. For greater colour control, you can simply mix the colours into icing first and then combine the icings. This will allow for finer adjustment of your shades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oliver1010 from Fantastic! I bought these food colours because I was making a dragon cake with the hobbycraft chocolate icing. I didn't want to colour the icing before I used it, because the dragon was going to be different colours all over - so I diluted these colours and used them as paint. They dried very well and were very easy to blend. Although in some parts the colour was quite concentrated, the flavour of the colour was not apparent which I have found to be quite strong with other brands. Will certainly purchase again (although probably not for a long time as there is a very substantial amount in this pack!).

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hetty1984 from Fantastic depth of colour, but a bit pricey Find these even better than gels though colours more limited in this pack Vs the brand of gels available in the store. Tiniest drop needed for very vibrant colours so will last a long time and with best before date in 2026 (currently Jan 2022) the kids and I have lots of time to use them. We were mostly looking the bright colours but we did try a tiny bit of gold to see what it was like but was quite flat. A bit of lustre added separately would look really good though. Overall a pricey option but the long date softens the blow a bit!

You really only need a tiny amount to achieve the right colour. Also comes with a colour chart to help mix up new colours, it’s just basic though. Unfortunately I bought these and when I got home and opened them 2 of the main colours, blue and red, were missing from the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TriciaHobbyBaker from Fantastic Paste These paste colours are brilliant, unlike liquid colours and even some gels, they do not dilute your buttercream or fondant and if used in sponge for rainbow cakes the colours are vibrant, only need a small amount so they last ages unless you are a professional baker but even then, still great value for money

Rated 5 out of 5 by ari051 from Lovely, strong bold colours With Sugarflair colours a little goes a long way - the colour stays strong even after the bake and when making macarons or cakes, the batter consistency isn't altered too much which makes for the perfect colours to use! I can;t go back to supermarket brands after using these - incredible results!

I wanted to make black icing, so I used only a little bit of icing (1.5 cups) and mixed it with the black paste. Even with half a teaspoon of colouring, the colour came out blueish grey. It is still good colouring but not as good as I'd hoped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by turbofaye from Great bright colours I bought these colours because i was asked to make a rainbow cake & after trying to make a rainbow cake before using liquid colours from a local super market & it not working the colours were very dull i was worried that these would do the same thing, but i was wrong i only had to use a small amount of this colour paste on the end of a cocktail stick to get brillient bright colours & the rainbow cake turnt out amazing & the kids loved the bright colours I would recomend these colours to other bakers
