I started a project of a double size blanket for our bed but wanted some original.....decided to crochet in soft chunky wool and a thinner hairier yarn ....picked Cream as the colour ...2 shades ...the wool was awesome just what I wanted to work with ...soft but chunky ..easy to work with...and giving great texture to the blanket ....price was great as on 3 for 2 offer . It has taken me 6 weeks to make but can now say .....Winter bring it on ...great product and so soft ...helps charity to so winner all round .

Nice soft yarn but.
This is a nice yarn overall but there are several quality issues and I would highly recommend that you wind it into a ball before you begin working with it I found a few random loose pieces especially in the cream for some reason. There are also a lot of knots
It is also prone to splitting and looking quite raggy in places

Mixed feelings about this wool
The quality of this wool is actually lovely. However, I was really disappointed to come across at least three knotted joins in four of the balls of wool. I didn't expect to find these joins in a 'women's institute' product... that was not so cheap.

Looks and feels great
This is crocheting up really nicely for a throw - it feels lovely and warm and I cannot wait for it to be finished!!

High quality yarn
I do love the women's institute yarn and is almost always my go to for projects. Is lovely and soft and very well made. The yarn stays tight and doesn't unravel easily. My only criticism is sometimes I'll find a knot. But other than that I love this. I hope you come out with more colours.

Lovely yarn to work with
I have used this yarn before and I really like the feel and the colour of the cream. It's a lovely weight and perfect for the woven wall hangings I create. I bought more as I like it so much and want to keep my store of it stocked up.

Beware Batch 22/2009 The yarn kinks as if overspun
I found this yarn batch 22/2009 to be overspun. The yarn kinked and twisted as if it had been frogged. Shame because it is a lovely yarn. I was knitting a throw for a sofa and had to keep cutting the yarn due to the kinking issue.

WI Chunky Yarn is not as good as comparable products
I found WI Chunky Yarn difficult to knit with and it proved impossible to sew the garment pieces together with the yarn, necessitating the purchase of a thinner yarn for that purpose. I would be unlikely to use this product again.
