Achieve stunning artworks with pastels using Daler-Rowney Ingres Pastel Paper.

Named after the neoclassical French painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, this paper has a unique texture formed on a cylinder mould machine by pressing the paper fibres between the cylinder mesh and the marking felt.

The Ingres paper provides excellent tooth for traditional pastel work, with a surface texture known as a chain and laid line surface. Each sheet is 160gsm and there are 24 sheets included in the pack.

I use this pastel paper all the time and keep resisting buying it, so as not to add more to the pile, but it is irresistible. I love the colour ways and the hook the paper has. There are at least 30 of these sketchbooks on my shelves; now there'll be 31.

So after looking on line for this size we couldn’t find any. One trip to Hobbycraft later we found some. So far it’s been used for drawing with charcoal and husband has no gripes about it, so all in all quite satisfactory !

There are a variety of colours in different books which allow experimentation in using warm to cool or neutral backgrounds. Take soft pastel rally well. Enjoy experimenting.
