Adds a whole new dimension
I'm a (very) amateur artist and have only just started to get back into painting - but this stuff adds a whole new dimension that makes things (in my view) far more interesting. I've been applying this to canvas to create abstract, rough patterns to paint over, which I think look great (if I do say so myself!). It's versatile stuff, but I'm still getting to grips with its capabilities; at present abstract is all I've done, but I'm sure with some practice it can be refined to accentuate more minute details. It's also quite therapeutic to apply and play around with!

This product is a very versatile medium.
I mix this with acrylic heavy bodied paint, it is a more economical way of creating impasto effects. It can be sanded and scraped with a scalpel once dry as well.

Great product
I often work with texture past,there are many on the market but this I find suits me best. The advarntage of buying from hobby craft is you can see it and feel the waight of the product. This paste holds its shape well you can build up layers with it,it can have a rough look like a rock face but you can run a damp cloth gently over it befor it's fully dry to have a smooth finish,it's versitility is why I use it.

Can I use this with water colour paper or only canvas
Yes you can use it on anything really but I would say it'll probably adhere better to a coarser grain and heavier watercolour paper. It's thick and quite heavy if you use a lot of it so you may want to think about whether it will make your paper too heavy to hang straight, it could cause some buckling if you lay it on too heavy. Canvas has no trouble holding it, I've used it many times. Also water colour paints aren't particularly ideal for painting over this, depends what effect you want obviously but it works better with acrylics. Hope that helps.
