There are 12 pencils included in the pack, with grades 8B, 7B, 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B, 2B, B, HB, F, H, 2H. The range of grades ensures that you have the perfect pencils for fine details as well as shading and texturing. They are presented in a nice tin, offering compact storage and professional presentation.

The pencils are made of finely ground graphite and clay, and they are coated with eco-friendly water-based varnish, with a special bonding agent for break-resistant leads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ArtyStick from Very good quality pencils The Faber Castell 9000 Art Set is a very useful range of drawing pencils ranging from 2H to 8B, ensuring that there is plenty of choice to ensure a great range of tones. They sharpen well and have very smooth coverage, not at all gritty in use. They come in a useful tin which helps protect them in transit, and encourages me not to leave them all over the place. Having only had cheap and cheerful drawing pencils before, these have certainly helped to improve my drawing and shading skills. I also bought a "jumbo" 8B pencil of the same make to see what it was like, and it's great for covering larger areas.

I’d definitely call these pencils professional because of how well they can blend using a blending stump and just how great the finished drawings look after using. I can’t wait to buy them again once mine have run out!!!

I'm using them to draw landscapes, cartoons, maps and general illustrations, and have found that they are comfortable to write and draw with, sharpen well, and the leads are good quality with no grittiness.
