Charcoal pencils
Nice to have a pack with varying strengths of charcoal. They were quite hard to sharpen as the charcoal cores were broken, but sharpened up eventually!

Charcoal point breaks off too easily
Only had it a few days and already half way through them as the points keep breaking off. Won't buy again as they were quite pricey for what they are.

Poor quality
The charcoal core of the first (medium) pencil was broken along the whole length. It was, therefore unusable. Very disapointing.

Unusable
As described in other reviews - these pencils are very flimsy. I found it basically impossible sharpen, even with the recommended technique using scalpel and sandpaper. The cores were completely broken, so even shallow passes with the blade can cause the tip to become loose and fall out. The tone produced by the core is pleasing, but it is unfortunate that the pencil is otherwise unusable. Try the Wolff Carbon pencils instead!

Sharpening problems
The soft and medium pencils are too crumbly to use a pencil sharpener. The hard pencil is only just useable. I will try sharpening with a scalpel instead.

Very useful!
I bought these because I thought they would give an edge to a particular project, which they certainly did! I’m glad I bought them!

Good quality but
good quality charcoal, however it is a bit flimsy and liable to breaking so be careful when sharpening.

Superior product
These charcoal pencils are to die for! They don’t do that awful squeak when you press too hard either!
