So easy to work with
These were simple to melt over a double boiler and in the microwave, they set pretty quickly and you do not have to temper them like you do with ‘proper’ chocolates because they are made with vegetable oil and not cocoa butter. Even after melting, setting and re melting, they are just as easy to work with as the first time. I used them to reinforce pretzel sticks to garnish a cake and they looks fabulous and they taste fine, unlike some candy melts that are on the market.
I melted the leftovers again and poured them into a wee mould which meant nothing was wasted, but I could keep and reuse them too. I’ll be getting these again for my next cake project as they are HEAPS easier to work with than chocolate and very reasonable in price comparatively.

Smell like paint and taste horrible.
Bought these as Hobbycraft don’t sell the Wilton melts anymore, they smell like paint and don’t taste very nice as I had a little taste when I started but had to use them today, I’m hoping they don’t spoil all my hard work and I’ve spent all morning making cake pops for my daughters birthday tomorrow.
I won’t be buying them again sorry hobbycraft plus they are smaller bags than the Wilton melts were.
Will be taking these back to the store.

Melts well but not too tasty
I used to buy the other make Hobbycraft sold to make modelling chocolate and it worked perfectly. This still works perfectly but tastes a bit strange. So I wouldn’t cover the whole cake in the modelling chocolate as it would really spoil it, but it’s useful for making bits for a cake you really need to set hard and keep shape, such as a funnel on a train or arms of a little person that are held up.

Waist of money
I bought this on Halloween. And I melted it according instructions, it was great but after moulded (in skulls moulding), this turned into plastic and wasn’t able to eat. Also I left them in normal room temperature for a week to see whether they get soft but nothing happened. Normally chocolate tends to get softer but they were plasticky so don’t recommend

Solid colour and easy
I always struggle with candy melts for cake pops, but added a teeny bit of vegetable oil to this once they were melted slightly and given a really good stir - the melts didn’t clump doing this and were so easy to work with. I found the coating didn’t crack if the cake pops were not quite fridge temperature. Dries very quick, need to decorate fast.

Deco melts this product is worth every penny
This product I have been using to create smash hearts during this pandemic has been such a success. Click and collect service had never let me down. Sometimes it's been as quick as just a few hours to collect and the product I've ordered online is there waiting and ready.

Horrible taste
I bought this to make halloween witches hats by covering strawberries and oreos. They melted fine, i added oil to loosen it off. Set very quickly. The taste is AWFUL. Genuinely couldnt eat them. Similar to eating play doh (I imagine). Even the kids refused them.
