Needs NINE eggs...(!).
It doesn't mention on the Hobbycraft website/product description that this mix requires 9 eggs to make it. I had bought it for a friend who is gluten-free, for her to make when she wanted cake. But when I saw it would take so many eggs I decided against giving it to her. It makes it extremely expensive to make up, so we'll stick with the Betty Crocker gluten-free mixes that always work well. Such a shame as it's always nice to have more options. I really think Hobbycraft should say on the website that it needs so many eggs as this is not normal for a cake mix!

Truly awful
Had high hopes for this as picture on the front made it look like a lovely light sponge, However, what came out of the oven was what looked like a rubber fake inedible cake !
I should have known as soon as I read the odd baking instructions, when the eggs needed to be weighed!! , these turned out to be 4-5 eggs per half packet! I think something has got lost in translation, as its from a continental country, I did taste it...it was like earing a rubber band that just tasted &smelled of egg, I'm sticking to my own Gluten free recipe next time

Wrong baking instructions on package
I purchased this cake as to gain time during the preparation of my son’s bday 2morro. When reading the instructions (9 eggs!!!! Per 500g) I thought it was kind of ridiculous and wayyyy more than I usually use in my made from scratch recipes but I still followed it as I thought they must know their product and how to bake it. It turned out HORRIBLE with a disgusting egg taste and very compact … an omelette cake I would say. I evidently had to throw the whole thing away and now have to rush tomorrow morning to buy all the ingredients for a last minute home made recipe, which is very annoying since I usually bake and do the whole decoration process the night before. Very disappointed and a waste of money. I will however buy it again and try it with 4 eggs per 500g which should turn out way better.

Lovely
This is a plain cake, but you can add choc chips or whatever flavouring you choose. The mix is easy to use and yields a lovely gluten free cake.

Great sponge
Purchased this to make a sponge cake for my mums birthday she's coeliac.
Easy to make, great texture, not crumbly, moist.
Wouldn't hesitate to buy again
