I guess from my perspective there are a few things that can go wrong with pins - if they are bent, have no sharp point, a damaged head, or are of unequal length. I have bought numerous packs these particular pins and on average there are probably 15-20 pins which have one of these issues (most of the discards are bent). I have thought about keeping them and complaining but when you get 700+ pins in a pot it's not too bad a ratio. So if you buy these expecting a few duds you won't be disappointed.

Making the material Christmas trees, from seeing one in-store, my fingers were very sore from pushing pins through material and into the polystyrene cone. Being a much shorter pin made the next one so much easier. highly recommended.
