Heart Decorations Step 1

Cut out a heart in card to use as a template. Draw around the template twice on the fabric then cut out two hearts.

Cut out a heart from the hessian fabric then glue a button on top.

Cut the twine 20cm long, form a loop then glue the ends to the top of one of the hearts.

Step 4
Lay the other heart underneath and starting at the tip, back-stitch approximately 0.5cm from the edge with three lengths of thread.

Leave a gap, then fill the heart with stuffing and sew up the gap.

Step 6
Lay the hessian heart on the front so it covers up the ends of the twine then sew in place through the holes in the buttons. Fray the edges with a craft knife.
Bunting Step 1

Trim a length of twine 160cm then make a small loop each end. Create a bunting flag template from card.

Step 2
Lay the template on hessian, draw around twelve times then cut out twelve flags. Roughen the edges with a craft knife.

Step 3
Create a small heart template that will fit on the front of the flags and use to draw around and cut out twelve hearts in two different fabrics. Fray the edges with a craft knife.

Cut out twelve hearts from the heart hessian fabric then glue on top of the other hearts.

Step 5
Stitch a cross in the middle of each heart using three lengths of thread then glue the hearts to the flags.

Step 6
Fold the top of the flags over the twine, pin in place, then secure by sewing a back-stitch along the top of each flag.

Decorative Jars Step 1

Trim two lengths of hessian fabric 10cm then wrap around the large jars, trimming to fit and gluing in place. Repeat with a 4cm width piece of hessian on the small jar.

Step 2

Trim striped fabric 10cm wide, fold a 1cm seam to the back along the top and bottom then iron flat. Attach to one large jar, trimming to fit. Add hessian hearts and a twine bow on top.

Step 3

Trim gingham fabric 8cm wide, fold a fold a 1cm seam to the back along the top and bottom then iron flat. Attach to the other large jar, trimming to fit. Trim another length of gingham fabric 3cm wide, sew a running stitch along one end then gather up.

Step 4

Sew the sides of the gathered fabric to create a rosette. Sew a hessian heart and button in the centre. Wrap twine around the jar then glue the rosette on top. Wrap and glue twine around the top.

Step 5

Trim heart fabric 4cm wide, fold a fold a 1cm seam to the back along the top and bottom then iron flat. Attach to the small jar, trimming to fit. Wrap twine around the top then add a twine bow.
