How to Make
Open a new project in the desktop veriosn of the Design Space app. Open the "Images" library and type "Christmas" into the search bar and select the green script design (#M8FC2F83).
Once back through to the Canvas screen, select the "Contour" function and remove the "Merry" part of the image, be clicking on the elements within the pop-up (these will turn light grey).
Measure the front of the crate and decide on the size you'd like this main part of the greeting to be, and amend the size of the image in Design Space as desired -ours measured 44cm.
If your greeting measures over 26cm it will need to be split into parts to fit onto the Bass Wood sheets. To do this "Duplicate" the image, and use the "Contour" tool once more to remove the first half of the greeting.
Repeat the same process with the remaining greeting, this time removing the second half of the greeting.
You'll then be left with the greeting in two halves, position as desired, then drag a selection box over both parts and "Group" the elements.
Open the "Text" menu and type the word "Merry" into the text box that appears on screen.
Amend the font to "Geometric 231 Std Roman".
Repeat the same process with the word "Eve".
Re-size both words as desired in the top left and bottom righ-hand corners of the "Christmas" greeting.
Once happy with their positioning change the colour fo both elements to match the "Christmas" greeting.
Once happy with the design, click the green "Make it" button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
You will be taken through to the mat preview screen, check everything is correct before clicking "Contiue".
Once through to the machine set-up screen, set the material to "Bass Wood" and follow the on-screen instructions to cut your design.
Please note: If you have not used your Knife Blade before you will be prompted to calibrate it before stating the cut.
As the machine cuts a progress screen will appear, with number of passes completed along with approximate time remaining.
While the Maker is cutting the Bass Wood paint the crate with your chose colour of craft paint - I mixed a couple of colours to crate the dark sage green tone for my crate.
Leave to dry, before applying a second coat.
Once the Bass wood cut is complete, carefully remove the elements from the cutting mat, then secure them to the front of the crate using tacky glue (or another strong adhesive).
Leave the glue to completely dry, before adding in the contents to your crate.
