How to Personalise and Decorate Ceramic Baubles

Use a pencil to carefully write out your letter. Lightly write this out as it might be difficult to rub this out later.

Once you're happy with the positioning and the lettering, use a Posca pen to permanently write out the letter. To use the Posca pen, shake it well and press down until you see the ink come through.

Retrace the pencil lines carefully. If you need to, split the letter into two sections to make it easier to write out.

Wait to dry. To create a modern calligraphy style of lettering, fill in the downstrokes on the letter. Make sure you only fill in the downstrokes rather than the whole letter as it will make it too thick!

Using the worksheets provided, add some festive embellishments and motifs to add a Christmas feel to the baubles.

Draw the motifs lightly using a pencil.

Add the colours in sections; for example, do the stem first then the leaves then the details. Make sure you wait until each section is dry before adding more.

Once it's completely dry, carefully rub out and visible pencil marks or cover it using the Posca pen.

Using the worksheets provided, carefully draw the festive motifs using a pencil on the bauble. Lightly draw them out as it makes it easier to rub them off later if necessary.

Once you're happy with them, re-draw them using a Posca pen.

Use different colour Posca pens to make your bauble more interesting and colourful. Draw the motifs in sections, start with the stems, then the leaves then the details.

Don't be afraid to add more detail by putting a colour on top of another colour.
