Not suitable for beginners - or anyone!
This is a really awful kit. The instructions are impossible to follow. They don’t use standard US or UK crochet terminology and the terms used seem to change throughout. I’m not a beginner but even following the pattern was a challenge and I ran out of yarn halfway through the first light.

Poor instructions
Poor instructions. Haven’t tried this yet but tried the crochet reindeer and the instructions were awful, clearly translated from a foreign language. I don’t think there will be enough yarn to complete it either. Definitely it suitable for a beginner either

not enough yarn to complete
Not too happy! There isn’t enough yarn provided to complete each light. The guide isn’t good and poorly explains the different crochet stitches in an overly complicated way (should simply say crochet phrases like single crochet, slip stitches etc). I’m not too happy with this but may try to do this using my own yarn and a smaller crochet hook to get the effect I would like.

Make your own crochet garland
Agree with other reviews - instructions unclear but most disappointingly insufficient wool to complete each light.
Will now be a bit reluctant to purchase any more Hobbycraft kits.

Very disappointing!
Don’t waste your money as there is insufficient wool to make any of the baubles. Wish I had read the previous review before buying and spending hours trying to make it.

Don’t waste your money
As with the other reviews, I found there was not enough yarn to finish the first bulb. I also had large holes in my crochet so tried a smaller crochet hook and whilst this fixed the hole problem, there was still not enough yarn to finish the bulb.
I also went on a bit of a journey with the instructions, and ended up ignoring them for the most part, starting with a magic circle and then just following the simplified instructions for each round (e.g row x - 36+6) as I already know how to increase and decrease in the round.
I have since bought some yarn to still make this project, but with absolutely none of the original yarns that came with the kit and with a pattern I have made myself, although based on what was included with this kit.
Definitely not suitable for beginners.

Not understandable for a beginner
Bought in store to try make as a beginner and was struggling with understanding instructions , so looked on site to see if others completed it easier than me , but all bad reviews, so at least made me feel better that it wasn’t just me , I’m at a loss , so will use the yarn for practicing for other projects .

Poor instructions, not enough yarn
Wish I’d read the reviews first, I thought this would be a straight forward craft project but like others have said, the instructions are very hard to follow and once you fathom them you realise there’s not enough of each colour to complete the bulbs even after downsizing the hook! Very disappointed!o
