Rated 4 out of 5 by Craftybunnii from Very fine shimmery effect. This product is great if you want to create a very fine glittery shimmer, but it will not add much colour on the top of coloured icing. It creates a very subtle glimmer effect. I used the silver powder to try and pick out contours on black icing, and all it did was create a pearlescent sparkly (very fine) shimmer. Hardly any colouring at all. It may show up if you used it on white icing, but it’s not very good for highlighting over coloured icing. The glitter is extremely fine - and will spread everywhere if you’re not careful! It is an excellent product if you want to add the finishing touch, but I ended up dry brushing with the silver edible paint in the end to get a burnished look on my icing that I was after.

The overall effect of this is good, I used on fondant to make it look metallic and it worked quite well - HOWEVER it was extremely hard to apply; I tried with finger, brush, cotton bud and more but could never get an even layer nor very much. It is not good for large areas or those with little patience!
