Great for beginners
Brought this book as another attempt to learn water. I like how it starts you off with a limited paint palette with no need to go out and buy an expensive paint set with colours you may never use. Flicking through the book there are some good examples of pictures to paint with step by step instruction on what to do and also the colours that you will need. If you are starting out in watercolours then I think this is a good purchase

Great book for beginners
Having never done watercolour this book guided me on what to buy to begin, then through some simple techniques including colour mixing. I have now completed my first watercolour picture using this book and am very pleased with the result! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to give watercolour a go!

A realy good introduction to watercolour.
Although I'm not a complete beginner I found the explanations in the book much easier to follow than in the other two beginners' guides to watercolour which I own. There is no waffle or over-explanations and I felt that I was actually learning. I also like the way he tells you exactly what colours to use in the projects and illustrates the learning points. Overall, excellent.

Have started painting with hobbycraft
Now at retirement age was looking to try water colour painting I did a search online and found Hobbycraft with a fantastic range of what I needed I made up my first order which came within a couple of days absolutely brilliant and the price range they have to suit every pocket which for me is fantastic,have since been to purchase more products from the main store and you are spoiled for choice thanks Hobbcraft ....

Perfect to get a complete beginner started
This book is really helpful to the complete beginner, gives confidence as they learn to paint for the first time. I had dabbled a bit before hand but had no clue, this covers the basics and gives enormous confidence to keep trying.

Beautifully presented and easy to use book.
I have recently started painting with Watercolours. The style I prefer is very free and playful - this book was ideal in helping me with so many aspects, especially people and buildings. It has also given me more confidence with mixing and applying colour.
I would certainly recommend this inexpensive book to beginners using Watercolour.
