Women's Institute Cream Soft and Silky 4 Ply Yarn 100g

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not too impressed Bought all the colours in this wool. Although colour selection is good, I wasn't too impressed with wool. I was using it to crochet with a 2.5 hook after giving up with a 2.0, I found the wool strands to split quite easily which was a pain to keep going back and making sure all strands caught on the hook. I should think knitting with this wool maybe easier and maybe a larger crochet hook, but I needed the smaller hook for the project I was doing which is usually fine with other 4ply wools.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit disappointed with this yarn I bought this yarn to finish a project that I had started with yarn I had bought maybe a year ago. I knew there was likely to be a difference in shade but I was not happy to find the yarn much thicker. So much so that I had to go down a hook size after finding the front of the work much wider than the back! It also splits terribly - so much so that I returned the other two balls I had bought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely yarn to knit with This is the first time I've tried WI yarn, and I am very impressed with this particular one. As it's name suggested it is soft and silky, it is nice to knit with and gives good stitch definition and a lovely overall look.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but watch out for glue from label Nice yarn but glue from label ruins the first few metres, the yarn was all stuck together on multiple balls I bought.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Woman's institute silky and soft Was good wool really liked it but when I ran out and bought a new lot the same batch number to finish my blanket the wool wasn't as thick so went back to hobbie craft an tryed to change it but they were all the same so had to start the blanket all over again I've never had this problem before was a bit disappointed with them changing the thickness of the wool because The finish of my blanket wasn't as nice and thick as when I used the first lot of wool

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice yarn, but ... This is lovely yarn to knit with, and the baby cardigan looks good when finished - BUT it knits up far bigger than 4 ply. I didn't check my tension (I know I should do but as a very experienced knitter, I did expect that 4 ply yarn would knit to the usual tension) - and when the garment was completed it is certainly too big for the average-sized newborn. A pity, because it IS nice yarn - but it is something to be aware of if you buy this make.
