Best quality for the price!
After crocheting and knitting in excess of 60 years, I have to say that it was late in my yarn life that I cam across the Women's Institute range of yarns at Hobbycraft, and since then I have to be honest and say that the yarn is the one I have to be the best for the price. It is soft, doesn't shred, washes up beautifully and the range of the more muted shades are just beautiful. Another bonus is that unlike many other yarns I have used over the years, I have only ever come across a couple of knots so a great deal of care has been put into manufacturing this yarn. Try it, you won't be disappointed I assure you!

Average Quality for your money.
Most wool you can buy from Hobbycraft are really great but this one is a bit fluffier than most. It is quite stretchy and so you need to take this into consideration when knitting your garment.
Don't forget you really do get what you pay for and this wool is no exception!
I am not saying its bad, as it is quite perfect if you are a beginner and don't need to spend a lot for your first ventures into this hobby.
The colour is really nice though and goes quite well with other colours.
Overall I would recommend buying this wool if you are just starting out, but if you are looking to knit something with a little bit of quality in the finished product I would probably buy something a little more expensive.

Perfect budget yarn
Having used WI yarn for numerous projects I am happy to share how much I like working with this yarn. It works up well, looks good and feels soft and is great for projects such as amigurumi or clothing. The range of colours is generally appealing and the 3 for 2 offer makes this a great yarn for all budgets. I have purchased the WI DK yarn both online and in store and have found both to be well stocked with good availability. This is my go to yarn, both generally and for specific projects.

It’s not Double Knit yarn
I used this yarn for a crochet item (a cat doll) but found this is thicker than Double Knit, though not quite as thick as Aran (possibly Worsted weight?), even though it recommend 4mm needles. If I’d used this for a garment and expected this to be DK I would have been disappointed.
As for the item I made it’s is slightly bigger so have had to make clothes for the said doll with a few more stitches and extra row or two for fit.
Please Hobbycraft, be clear on what weight of yarn this is.

Good product for any type of knitting or crochet
I always use this wool when needing double knit. It knits up beautifully and can be used for adults and babies. It comes in different lovely colours and is a good price

Very good standard yarn
I like all the WI yarn lines. The premium acrylic one is fairly standard but is much softer than the basic hobbycraft range. My only issue is that this grey is a bit darker than I would like and I would also like a lighter grey in the Soft and Cuddly range. If I need a standard acrylic yarn then this is one of my two go-to options.
