Mostly good but one significant issue!
I originally purchased two balls to make baby jackets. It felt nice to knit and looked good till I realised one ball had brown patches in. I realised in time to cut them out of most pieces but then only noticed them on one front when I was sewing up. Not good as it was a gift and I didn't feel I could give one that had brown mark on front. In the end I had to buy a third ball to make up for the bits I had had to cut out. Spoilt it for me and I wouldn't buy again. Also paper bands are stuck onto wool, I guess to stop them falling off, but I found the glue had adhered to several strands and was hard to get off. All in all I wouldn't recommend or risk again.

Many splits in yarn and not the same dye number
I am a very frequent customer of Hobbycraft as it’s the only place I can purchase womens institute yarn but the problems I have been having over the last 12 months really is getting a joke. Mainly the ball band being glued to the yarn and splitting the yarn almost every time and the last order was 10 balls and one of the balls has had that many splits in the ball that I had to keep cutting and rejoining the yarn but in the end I decided to undo that particular ball and not use it also the ball bands were all different dye numbers and this isn’t the first time that this has happened either. I am going to try and find an alternative place to shop as yarn isn’t cheap.

A change in WI Soft and Silky
Have been a bit disappointed with my recent WI Soft and Silky yarn. It's no longer as Soft and Silky as it was. I recently made a baby blanket with yarn that I had purchased early last year and the baby's mum loved the feel of the blanket. I ordered some more yarn as I have a couple of new babies arriving this year and was disappointed that this new batch doesn't feel anything like my earlier purchases. Not so Soft and Silky at all. It also feels more like dk than 4ply. Hopefully when washed it will feel soft and silky. It used to be 5* now it's down to 3*

Mismatched dyes
I recently bought 2 lots of white wool. I made sure that each batch contained matching dye numbers. I started to knit a cardigan (fronts & back all in one - 275 stitches in a lacy pattern - taking 1/2 hour to knit each row), & reached up to where decreasing started on the front edges & discovered the last ball was a different colour. I checked my second batch of wool (all with matching die numbers), only to find THREE different colours. Fortunately Hobbycraft agreed to exchange my unused balls, but I was left unable to continue with my cardigan, & had to start completely from scratch again. Most frustrated at all those wasted hours! So my advice is to check VERY carefully, not only the die numbers, but also the actual colour.

Beautiful Wool as always by WI
I have used a awful lot of the Womens Institute yarn through all the thicknesses and it is absolutely brilliant. It washes like a dream and stays in it's shape, without the horrible bobbles and droopiness that other acrylic yarns can do. It is so soft both for feeling nice to knit with and for the most tender of skins, that of a newborn. I have used WI yarns since my first squish test the first time i seen it and it is my go to yarn now for anything i knit, as i can rely on it.

Really good to work with
This product is so good that I dont want to take my hands off it. It's so easy and fun to work with and makes my project a joy to complete. It's no-pill, sleek and cosy. It's real good value for the money. I bought many of them in different colours of pink, white, blue and yellow.
I highly recommend it.

Lovely soft wool
I purchased this wool recently to knit a baby jacket for my excepted grandchild. This wool is gorgeous to knit with, has a lovely silky look to it and feels so soft. Its great value with the 3for2 offer, but the one thing I would love is to see more pastels in it as the choice for baby knits is limited in this 4ply. All in all I am enjoying knitting with this wool, and I think 4ply is now my preferred gauge at the moment.

Soft and well defined
This is super soft when knitted up, and heavy enough to drape ever so slightly. It would be great for an oversize cardigan or slouchy jumper. It has a slight sheen, which means stitches stay defined and smooth, rather than going fuzzy. Making a large christening blanket (a chunkier version), so this is perfect. Great value, especially with the 3 for 2 offer.
