A fun activity to decorate for the garden
The wooden insect house is a fun activity for kids ,and adults, to decorate and to create interest in nature conservation. I wanted to use bright colours, so I primed the wood first with white Gesso to make the colours pop. I had a lot of fun painting this, I used acrylic paints and Posca pens. I also added texture to the roof by using texture paste. The insect house can be left as plain wood or painted with a light wash so you can still see the grain, or decorate it more elaborately like I have. I would recommend applying a sealant before putting it in your garden or any outdoor space.
