Rated 3 out of 5 by Lleslym from Not wonderful but does the job It has a good ish lamp and a little dish thing that can hold craft stuff but isn’t big enough to put a cup in. I have another of these lap trays which is not a Hobbycraft make. This has an addition tray that u can put pens, needles or a crochet hook in. This would be an excellent addition to the Hobbycraft tray. Also, it would be very handy to have a non slip surface as it’s quite slippy so things slip off as lap trays never are completely flat when on your lap. So with these extra bits, I’m sure more would be sold. I did ask a Hobbycraft online question and she seemed to think I just wanted to return it so she never actually read my question!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Nicknack from Not well made The idea is great, but the tray is not well made. Having used it once successfully, I was very pleased, however on second use the light didn't work. I checked the batteries and found the compartment had become detached from the bottom of the tray, thus breaking the circuit. As the battery compartment is only glued on, it will always prove to be a problem eventually. Hobbycraft refunded me and I decided to try another tray, only for the next one to be broken on arrival. I won't be buying another! The design needs changing so that the battery compartment is screwed to the tray, then it will be a useful product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cooliogill from Great product I can't believe that I waited so long to buy myself one of these. It's a brilliant addition to my crafting supplies. Now I can sit in comfort and watch the television without my OH complaining that I'm hiding from him, all whilst crafting away. My only slight niggle is that the distance between the base of the light and the cup holder is not quite big enough to fit a piece of 12x12 paper or cardstock - it will fit on the tray in general, it just hangs over the edge of the cup holder slightly. However I highly recommend this tray to anyone wanting to craft away from their dining table/craft room etc. Sits comfortably on your knee and overall a good size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ClarityK from Just what I needed! I make wire and bead trees and I had been looking for some kind of tray for ages that I could use as a work surface when I found this one. I ordered it, it arrived a few days later and it is perfect for me! The light wasn't part of the reason I bought it - I prefer a daylight bulb when I'm doing detail work so the light on the tray isn't really large enough to be useful for me but that's personal preference. It is sturdy, I can comfortably sit with it on my knee and it doesn't slip around which is great! Only minor criticism is it could probably do with more filling but again that's personal preference. Overall I'm delighted with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LadyFlyer from Craft Lap Tray is a goodie. I was in 2 minds about buying this as some reviews were not kind, but others loved it. I bought mine in the sale and I LOVE IT. I used to craft on an ordinary tray on a cushion on my knee, but this has made a world of difference. The pocket for a cup or 'small bits that roll' has made all the difference. The light is very useful, but it is the work size of the tray that tips the balance. Brilliant. I get real work done now of an evening, not just fiddling about. My husband sulks if he has to watch TV alone so this suits us both. If you too have a sulky boots, treat yourself to one of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jeannie48 from The Tray has a place to place your glass when you are busy working on the tray and a light attached so that you can work anywhere I chose to buy my item from Hobbycraft as it is my favorite store. I am an Artist who paints with oil paints so i can browse and buy all my items from one store as there is so much to choose from. The tray has been a big help as it is comfortable to put on my lap when i am working on my computer or when i am settled in my bed working. It was very reasonably priced and i could choose from 3 different colours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by xLustToDust from I love this! I had been so excited to receive this! The light is great and it is so comfy, I have spent many a night curled up with this on my lap. I have used it for a multitude of things between illustrations for college, cross stitching, I've had my laptop on it for gaming, I sometimes even use it for sitting in bed with breakfast and my tea in the morning. There is plenty space and it sits well on my lap, batteries were easy to install and the light is bright and easily poised. The only thing that could be improved is being able to change the bulbs if/when they expire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jemmz1 from Great for pain sufferers! As a suffer from a condition that leaves me experiencing both pain and muscle spasms daily. I found this tray not to heavy to have on my legs, the light was great when working on my craft projects and the cup holder works well for both drinks or holding craft items. This has been a great investment for me as I can continue working on crafting projects even on my bad days which leave me bed bound.
