Sanguine intro
1st time using Sanguine. Came in 2 shades but only needed light. Cheap enough to buy pack. Worked well. Glad available.

Lovely shades of brown and reddish brown
I bought these sketching pencils in error - I wanted pastel pencils. But having mastered how to sharpen without breaking the colour (only sharpen the wood, then use sandpaper for the colour) they work well alongside pastel and with care can be erased with putty rubber. Nice to use particularly on coloured paper.

Sanguine pencils
I had just been learning about Holbein using sanguine chalks for his sketches when I came across these in my local store. Purchased with a voucher so even more fortuitous! And they are so effective - would recommend.

The colours are great
