Daler Rowney synthetic brush round
I paint in oils in detail, having learnt in the pre-Raphaelite tradition. I get through a good brush in one picture so at £2.50 for either a long handle or a short one, this is not a waste of money. Unlike other thin round brushes, the hairs have strength, hold the paint and have spring in them when applied to the surface. Modelling brushes look good but just flop on the board. I would love to be able to afford fine sables but oil, unlike water colour, knocks the h..l out of a brush in one painting. At this price I can afford to ruin three during a work and they will still behave to the end.

Love this brush
I bought this brush on its own, not knowing much about the make. It was only £2.50 and I must say it's great value. I'm having to rethink all my brushes as I'm trying to use this one for everything. It looks good, feels good and does a great job.

Scratchy but did the job
This product was a bit awkward to use, being so long, but I guess that's part of the charm of it. It was a bit scratchy at times, not as soft as I initially thought in the store, would be really good for acrylic paints
