DAS White Air Drying Modelling Clay 1kg

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent material - dries white This clay dries a perfect white so you don’t need to paint a base coat before your design. I used this to roll out like cookie dough, then I cut out shapes with cookie cutters to hang from the Christmas tree. It worked perfectly, and once the clay has dried thoroughly you can use a nail file to smoothen off any rough edges or marks. I used less than half of the pack to make about 20 medium sized decorations. It’s not great for fine detail modelling as the texture is quite rough before it dries, and trying to make small details doesn’t really work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A cheap and cheerful air dry clay. Das air dry clay is a nice middle of the road clay for a nice price. A Great choice and my go to for simple/bulky projects. Don't expect it to hold fine detail well and expect the texture to be a bit weird/off putting if you are new to using it. Also cracking and loss of detail can be an issue at times with shrinkage (10-15%), but that can be said for most air drying clay products. You can quickly learn to compensate to make up for that with practise. Also don't worry about the weird smell. It is non toxic even if it smells otherwise.. I'd Still advise against eating it though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product My first foray in to clay. Wanted to make some tiles representing memories from my early childhood. As I don't have a kiln air dried clay was the way forward. As the end design was going to be spray painted gold the colour wasn't important. Shrinks as it dries, didn't crack. Found it easier to use shape cutters rather than a knife to get the look I wanted. Wet brushed to get a smooth look. Now inspired to try more abstract designs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Great air dry clay drys nicely with minimal cracking , which is easily remedied by making a slip from the clay

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Das Clay is by far the best clay to use! I have tried Hobbycraft's own clay but nothing beats the Das Clay. A much more superior clay to work with especially if you're a detailed crafter. If it's just for kid's use, then definitely go for the cheaper Hobbycraft alternative

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile! I've been using DAS modelling clay for some time and can't find any faults. I make jewellery dishes, Christmas decorations and fridge magnets and it's a fabulous material to be working with. Easy to shape, drying time is pretty quick (depending on the size and thickness of your project). Dries to off-white colour so I paint it with white acrylic paint to get a better shade. Highly recommended!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product is great This clay is great, espicially for the price. it's great for young kids who are wanting to mould and craft things out of clay but not brilliant for proffesional use. it tears apart quite easily and is a bit crumbly, though it's easy to dye with acrylic paints and the sticker that comes with the packaging is fantastic for keeping the clay from going hard and unusable. Great clay!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with This clay is so easy to mould and work with. Great price and dries quickly. I left mine overnight and it was rock solid in the morning. Also it doesn’t dry out in the packet. I put my leftover clay in a ziplock bag and it has been completely fine and still mouldable!
