Derwent Blender Pens 2 Pack

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using them requires practice I wasn’t to sure as to how these work. With the cap off the pen strips look like they’re just a stiff marker point and so the blending would be created by ‘smudging’ the coloured pencilling, but they’re more than that. They actually put down some kind of fluid which seems to dissolve the coloured pencil wax that has been applied to the paper and throw this action you can ‘drag’ the colour so that it blends. This needs some practice before using it on your finished artwork, simply because they don’t work like you think they would. Having explained the above, these work really very well. The two pens in the pack are of different point widths - wide and fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional finish Never used blenders before but was not disappointed with these. Have used them with other pencils, not just Derwent ones. Makes any colouring very smooth , leaving no lines. Reasonably priced and versatile since you have a small and a chisel-tipped pen in the pack. No hesitation in recommending them to anyone who wants a professional-looking finish to their coloured pencil drawings. Good for the adult colouring books as well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not impressed I was disappointed with these. They work all right to begin with but soon get marks on the tips which transfer to other colouring work. I would not buy them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A brilliant product I didn't know I needed. I'll be honest, these were an impulse buy. I do a lot of work in pencil crayon, and that involves a lot of time spent trying to smooth texture, essentially - to blend. These pens caught my eye, so I thought I would try them. The price was right, I'm a sucker for most things found in your local Hobbycraft. Honestly, they're a really good idea. Two different thicknesses, perhaps the only drawback being that you need to remember to clean the nib between using it on darker colours, but that oversight can be easily fixed. It saved time and effort, and the end quality was something I was very pleased with. They can be layered, so you can blend a base layer, then increase the shading over the top. I would definitely recommend and would buy again. Perhaps just don't use them if you want very vibrant highlights, but that would be the only time I would think twice about including them in future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Useful I had great fun trying these out. They work with felt tipped and graphic pens as well as graphite and colour pencils. They work subtly too, and have lovely pointed tips, which make them easy to control too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Useful blender The small one run out of solution within hours of using. It has a harder nib. The large one is between a pen and brush, much softer to use. Sill has solution several weeks later, with daily use.
