Easy excellent results!
Easy to use, simple instructions, give fantastic results. Turned an unloved pair of linen trousers into an immaculate black pair, with no mess or fuss!

Dye
I knew it wouldn't produce pure black as I was dying shoes with man-made netting over satin. I expected shades of grey. The satin was a lovely black. The netting came out orange!

Dyed the garment a good colour.
Unfortunately still getting “smuts” of black on washing after use. Followed instructions and even bleached machine afterwards as suggested, disappointed.

Good quality dye that works well
I am very pleased with the finish achieved with this dye but it isn't as clean to use as the dye pods that you just place in the washing machine drum.

I died two pairs of faded black jeans and they have come up like new. Washing machine needed a little wipe round after use, but not a problem.

Rich colour but stays in the washing machine
I have tried hand-dyeing some of Hobbycraft's natural calico tote bags and the result was patchy with weak colour, so I tried re-dyeing the same bags with machine-dye. The result was a rich and consistent colour. After dyeing, I ran the bags on a normal cotton wash (2 hours with laundry detergent) and the colour held. I then ran my machine on another 2 hour wash with washing machine cleaner and cleaned around the rubber seals to get rid of any remaining dye (there was still a lot hanging around in the machine). Following that, I ran a normal load of washing (darks and colours) and finally a normal load of whites. Unfortunately even having run the machine 3 times after dyeing, my whites still came out with black stains on. Although the product itself produces lovely results for your craft project, unless you have a spare washing machine, be careful of ruining your clothes afterwards!

Excellent finish!
I had 2 pairs of black jeggings which after a couple of washes both faded and looked scruffy. I was going to buy another pair, but then saw the black velvet Dylon dye. It was so easy to use and brought both pairs up a better colour than when I first bought them. I feel like I have two pairs of new jeggings. Result!

Didn’t quite dye my clothing black
The dye didn’t dye my clothing item to black it turned it from a pink to more of a purple shade. Not completely disappointed as I will probably buy it again and dye it again to see if it does eventually go black!
Left the washing machine in a bit of a mess but after a couple of washes it is back to normal.

A great product I would use again
The dye worked as expected and the coverage was great. I ended up needing an extra pack but the outcome was definitely worth it. I used the dye to change an old grey winter coat and the end result was fantastic. I also bought some new buttons so it looks like a brand new coat for a fraction of the cost.

This product does what it says on the package
I buy this dye to help refresh work black trousers that are continually being washed and fading due to washing powder it does what it says and brings them back to their original colour so giving them a longer shelf life and saving me money

Actually works!
I bought this to try to return black faded jeans back to their original colour. 1 pouch is enough for 3 pairs of size 8 jeans and it did work. Simple to use but it did leave black marks on the rubber seal of the washing machine drum.

Takes a lot
I used 4 pouches to try and dye some cusion covers from blue to black and they are still patchy it also left some white soap marks on them so I'll need to do them at least another two or three times till they are completely black

Does exactly what it says on the tin
Excellent product, so easy to use and works a treat. Dyed a pair of orange linen trousers black in one wash (didn't manage to dye the stitching though, had to use a fabric pen for that). Will definitely use this dye again.

Product does as it says
This product was used to dye a cream sweatshirt that had unremovable stains on it. The dye evenly covered the sweatshirt and did not leave the washing machine full of dye. I would strongly recommend this product.

Works a treat
Much easier than the old way of adding salt to the dye as well to get it to take. This dye made an a pair of faded jeans and a black lace top look like I’d just bought them new.

The dye is easy to use and doesn't require much effort, despite following the instructions exactly, the colour you get is much paler than the colour shown on the package.

Easy Peasy
Worked well on freshening-up a faded black sofa cover. Easy to use, all-in-one, product. Needed to use two packets (at the same time) because of the size of the cover.

Followed the instructions and checked my fabric was suitable but still ended up pretty patchy. Had much better results with Rit dye that I had to use afterwards.

Super black dye
One pack of black dye and my jeans and shirt were no longer faded grey. They now look as black as when they were new. Would recommend it to anyone.
