Perhaps a bad batch?
I used to embroider 20 years ago and regarded Gutermann metallic threads as being the best metallic ones then. I bought these because I had run out of a different brand's metallic, mid embroidery, and needed these in a hurry as they were a close match in colour. I had no problems with the other brand's metallic thread. The Gutermann thread however constantly broke, not only on the embroidery machine but also on my sewing machine, which meant I eventually gave up and had to complete my piece by hand. I bought two spools of this thread and both had the same problem. Maybe it was a faulty batch.

Hand sews like a dream
I used this pretty thread to outline my bee. It made all the difference. Did not break or tangle while in use, a common problem with metallic threads. I'm going back for some more.

Thread kept on breaking and not good for machines
The colour was perfect , but unfortunately kept on breaking , had to keep rethreading in the sewing machine , and even in hand sewing, the thread continued bunching up at times too

Great effect on my applique
I was pleased to find I could use this thread on my sewing machine. It has lifted my Christmas applique work and given the decorative picture a great finish.

Good colour
The thread is thinner than I had expected. Choose a thicker thread if you want a stronger gold colour on your craft item.

Thread is just right
I use this thread for stitching on card and I like it very much. I use it because it doesn’t split like other threads.
