These Hemline Fabric Marker Pencils are ideal for drawing fine lines onto your fabrics, for marking up when sewing, stitching and doing patchwork projects. These pencils give you clear lines that will make it easy to create precise markings that can easily be wiped off with water after you're done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SADL from Mixed review First is the obvious: the colours allow you to mark a range of fabric colours without much concern. The media inside the pencils transfers quite easily onto the fabric and, if the correct colour was chosen, is noticeable to allow work to commence. A negative to these is that the pencils wear down quite fast and need sharpening. If buying then do ensure you have an adequately sized sharpener or suitable tool. The brush 'covers' also seem just placed on the end; they are neither sufficiently tight or the correct shape to be used as protective ends and will fall off with minimal effort. Overall, a good purchase but some improvement necessary to be a long-term investment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BeadyAlice5 from Disappointing I am not an experienced user of sewing related products, and so I would like to offer this as a disclaimer before you read my review any further. However, I expected these fabric marking pencils to be a little more effective than they are actually are. I've tried them on a satin (non shiny side) and also on a hard wearing fabric (thick cotton material). They were too solid for the satin, and were more likely to damage the fabric than mark it. As you'd expect, they were somewhat more effective on the stronger fabric, but the colour was not overly visible. In all, I was disappointed really. I ended up using a biro!

However once opened the plastic pencil ends with the brush do not fit the pencils and fall off as soon as you turn the pencil upside down to use. Also I have found that I cannot fully remove the pencil mark from the materials I have used it on and the brush is ineffective. Would not recommend the purchase of this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Loulabell from this product is just what I was looking for - leaves sharp clean lines, no difference in line width/precise lines - plenty of colour options in a compact little set - sharpens using a regular pencil sharpener no need for extra expense on a specialist sharpener -less mess than regular tailors chalk -led broke when put down on table top too hard - white caps didn’t fit the pencil shaft at either end and bristles didn’t help to wipe away Taylor’s Chalk

Rated 1 out of 5 by Rakkle from Quite disappointing I’m afraid I was quite disappointed with this purchase. The fabric pencils were not easy to use. It takes quite a lot of force to even get a tiny amount of colour onto the fabric and this means that your line is quite often distorted and hard to see. I would be better using an HB pencil in all honesty. I wish I hadn’t bought them as they are now just lying at the bottom of my sewing bag, useless.

My old tailor's chalk made the lines too wide so I thought I would try these. Easy to use but could be a little softer to make the mark more easily. The brushes on the end don't stay on very well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Aman from Concept of these pencils are good, however .... I found that these were easier to used on more sturdy fabrics and worked well. But on slippery or less stiff fabric they didn't work so well and used chalk instead. Overall an 'okay buy' depends on what fabric you use them for.
