To difficult to get right
To difficult to use smoothly and if you don't get it right, it can cause ridges in the scissors, making them worse then the blunt ones that you originally had. I have 6 pairs of scissors that I can't use for cutting out materials because they are just not sharp enough. Unfortunately they now have the smallest of ridges in which cause bigger problems, though I can still use them for none material based crafting, but can't say they are any sharper.

SCISSOR SHARPENERS DIDNT WORK.
I have always been happy with Hobbycraft but sadly on this occasion I couldn’t get the scissor sharpener to work at all. I have bought quite a few wonderful Fiskar scissors for my costume making from Hobbycraft and they’ve all been great. Unfortunately the scissor sharpener made my pair of scissors much worse. Sue

Huge disappointment - would not recommend
I used this on my fabric scissors and it blunted them almost beyond repair. Had to spend a long time using the kitchen knife sharpener to get them even close to their original state. A really disappointing purchase - would not recommend.
