STALK

Rnd 1: In green working into magic ring, 8dc.

Rnd 2: BLO, 8dc.

Rnd 3-7 (5 rounds): 8 dc.

Rnd 8: FLO, [2dc into next st] 8 times. (16 sts)

Rnd 9: [1dc, 2dc into next st] 8 times. (24 sts)

Rnd 10: [1dc, chain 7, from the 2nd st from hook, sl st, 2dc, 2htr, 1tr, skip 2 st of rnd 9] 8 times.

Sl st to fasten off. Cut and leave a tail for sewing. Sew the stalk on top of rnd 30 of the tomato.

 

 

EMBROIDERY

Use thin black yarn to embroider the eyes between rnd 16 & 18, 4 sts apart and 3 sts wide. Embroider the eyelashes at the end of eyes and the eyebrows 6 rounds above the eyes. Use pink yarn to embroider the mouth and cheeks 1 rnd below the eyes.

Carrot

Rnd 1: In orange working into magic ring, 7dc.

Rnd 2: [2dc into next st] 7 times. (14 sts)

Rnd 3 - 4 (2 rounds): 14dc.

Rnd 5: [1dc, 2dc into next st] 7 times. (21 sts)

Rnd 6: 21dc.

Rnd 7: [1dc, 2dc into next st, 1dc] 7 times. (28 sts)

Rnd 8 - 9 (2 rounds): 28dc.

Rnd 10: [3dc, 2dc into next st] 7 times. (35 sts)

Rnd 11 - 13 (3 rounds): 35dc.

Rnd 14: [2dc, 2dc into next st, 2dc] 7 times. (42 sts)

Rnd 15 - 18 (4 rounds): 42dc.

GREENS

Make one in each size: small, medium & large.

Large green: Chain 20.

Make leaf 1: crochet from the 2nd st from hook, [2dc into next st] 8 times, 1dc, leave the last 10 chains unworked.

Make leaf 2: continue to chain 10, crochet from the 2nd st from hook [2dc into next st] 8 times, 1dc.

Make leaf 3: continue to chain 9, crochet from the 2nd st from hook [2dc into next st] 8 times. Finally, 10htr into the unworked sts of the first foundation chain. Fasten off, cut yarn and weave in ends.

 

Medium green: Chain 17.

Make leaf 1: crochet from the 2nd st from hook, [2dc into next st] 10 times, 1dc, leave the last 5 chains unworked.

Make leaf 2: continue to chain 10, crochet from the 2nd st from hook [2dc into next st] 8 times, 1dc.

Make leaf 3: continue to chain 9, crochet from the 2nd st from hook [2dc into next st] 8 times. Finally, 5htr into the unworked sts of the first foundation chain. Fasten off, cut yarn and leave a tail for sewing.

 

Small green: Chain 15.

Make leaf 1: crochet from the 2nd st from hook, [2dc into next st] 10 times, 1dc, leave the last 3 chains unworked.

Make leaf 2: continue to chain 10, crochet from the 2nd st from hook [2dc into next st] 8 times, 1dc.

Make leaf 3: continue to chain 9, crochet from the 2nd st from hook [2dc into next st] 8 times. Finally, 3htr into the unworked sts of the first foundation chain. Fasten off, cut yarn and leave a tail for sewing.

 

Put the greens together, the smallest at the front and largest at the back. Use one of the yarn ends to sew them together from the bottom to middle of the large green. Use the other yarn end to attach the greens to the carrot.

 

 

EMBROIDERY

Rnd 14: [1dc, 2htr, (1tr, 1dtr) in the next st, chain 2, (1dtr, 1tr) in the next st, 2htr, 1dc] 8 times. 80 sts + 4 chain spaces.

Sl st to fasten off. Cut and leave a tail for sewing. Sew the stalk on top of the aubergine, lightly stuff the stalk as you sew.

Use thin white yarn to embroider the eyes between rnd 25 & 27, 4 sts apart and 3 sts wide. Embroider the eyelashes at the end of eyes and the eyebrows 6 rnds above the eyes. Use pink yarn to embroider the mouth 1 rnd below the eyes.

Join with dark green from the inside of the pod, sl st along rnd 16 counter-clockwise so that the two loops go inside and the outer forms a single green line. Cut and leave a tail to sew. Place the peas inside the pot. Fold each pod end then sew with dark green yarn (approx. 5- 6 sts) to make the opening small enough to hold the peas inside.

 

EMBROIDERY

The magic ring is the top of the pea. Use thin black yarn to embroider the eyes between rnd 10 & 11, 4 sts apart and 2 sts wide. Embroider the eyebrows 6 rnds above the eyes. Use pink yarn to embroider the mouth 1 rnd below the eyes.
