Body

Assembling the Black Cat

Referring to pictures for positioning:

Attach head to body by sewing body to round 13 of the head.

Sew hands side by side attaching them to between round 12-13 of body.

Sew legs on the side of arms btw round 4-5 of body.

Sew ears on either side of head from round 3-6 of head.

Attach the tail to round 3-5 of the body centred to the legs.

For the eyes, using white embroidery thread, sew eyes between round 7-8 of head.

Trick or Treat Bucket

Using 3mm hook and Knitcraft Tiny Friends in Orange.

This is worked in rounds.

Round 1: Mr 6dc (6)

Round 2: 2dc into each stitch. (12)

Round 3: (1dc,2dc into next stitch) x 6 (18)

Round 4: (2dc,2dc into next stitch) x 6 (24)

Round 5: (3dc,2dc into next stitch) x 6 (30)

Round 6: BLO (4dc,2dc into next stitch) x 6 (36)

Round 7: 1dc into each stitch (36)

Round 8: (5dc,2dc into next stitch) x 6 (42)

Lower Part

This is worked in rows.

From rows 2-14, Ch 1 at the end of each row, these are turning chains and not counted in the total number of stitches.

Row 1: Ch 37, leave long tail at start at chain. (37)

Row 2: from the second chain from the hook, 1 Dc into each stitch. (36)

Row 3: (1tr,2tr into next stitch) x 18. (54)

Row 4-14: 1tr into each stitch. (11 rows) (54)

Row 15: (Dc, Ch 3, Dc in the next stitch) x 27.

Fasten off leaving a long tail, mark the first and last st of Row 1.

 

Upper Part

This is worked in rows.

Ch 1 at the end of each row, these are turning chains and not counted in the total number of stitches.

Attach yarn to one end of Row 1 of the lower part.

Row 1: (Htr2tog) x 2, 28htr, (htr2tog) x 2. (32)

Row 2-5: 1htr into each stitch. (4 rows) (32)

Row 6: 5htr, ch6, skip 6sts, 1htr, (htr2tog) x 4, 1htr, ch6, skip 6sts, 5htr. (28)

You should now have 2 arm holes with 6sts on the top from the ch6 and 6 stitches on the bottom from the 6 skipped stitches.

Sleeves 

This is worked in rounds.

With the base of the Upper part facing towards you, join yarn to first skipped st.

Round 1: 6htr into the 6 skipped sts, 1htr, 6htr into base of 6dc of row 6, 1htr. (14)

Round 4: (6htr,2htr into next stitch) x 2 (16)

Using the long tail from the lower end, sew the edges of the lower part of the dress together.

Do not pull the Magic ring too tight, ensure it is large enough can pass over both legs. (see pic)

Round 2: 1htr into each stitch. (36)

Round 3: (3htr,2htr into next stitch) x 9 (45)

Round 5: (5htr,2htr into next stitch) x 9 (63)

Round 6-15: 1htr into each stitch. (10 rounds) (63)

Collar

This is created by crocheting together 4 triangles like bunting then attaching them to the body of the costume.

Using Knitcraft Tiny Friends in Bright Green.

This section is also worked in rows. Ch 1 at the end of each row, these are turning chains and not counted in the total number of stitches.

Join the yarn to the end of Row 3 of the previous row.

Row 1: 1dc (1)

Row 2: (2dc into stitch) (2)

Row 3: (2dc into each stitch) (4)

Row 4: 2dc into first 2 sts, 2dc, 2dc into last 2 sts. (6)

Row 5: 1dc into each stitch (6)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Repeat Rd 1-5 to make 4 triangles in total.

Row 7: Using dc, attach all 4 triangles together from row 5, it should look like bunting (24)

Row 8: 2dc into first 2 sts, 20dc, 2dc into last 2 sts. (28)

Row 9: Using dc, attach the collar to the Front loops of row 3 of the body of the pumpkin costume. (28)

Adding the face to the pumpkin

Do you want a scary or cute pumpkin? Draw and cut out desired face from black felt and glue it on body of pumpkin (see picture).
