5 Easy Halloween Costumes for Kids
You Will Need
* Large Carboard Box
* Pencil
* Ruler
* Scissors or Craft Knife
* Black Elastic
* Black Paint
* Paint Brush
* Tape or Glue
Step 1: Flatten and open out your cardboard box and draw a tall rectangle approx. 20cm x 45cm, divide this section into 3. Draw a bat wing coming off one side of the middle section 40cm max width.
Step 2: Cut out the first bat wing and then use the part that you have discarded as a template to draw round for your second wing. Once drawn cut out your second wing.
Step 3: Paint one side in black and leave to dry, once dry flip over the wings and paint the other side.
Step 4: When your wings are dry, cut 2 pieces of black elastic approx. 60cm each, it is better to overestimate at this point as you can shorten it if needed.
Step 5: Poke 4 holes for your elastic close to the corners of the middle section, you can use your pencil to make the holes. Thread your elastic through the holes, it is a good idea to try on the wings at this point before you tie the elastic.
Step 6: Once you are happy tie your elastic and fold the top and bottom cardboard flaps over. Then glue or tape down to secure.
Your little bat is now ready to fly!

Step 6: Cut along the zigzag line, without disconnecting the triangles.
Step 7: Cut through the folded edge, and open up the fold.

Step 11: Cut with your Cricut using the Black Permanent vinyl.
Step 12: Weed the design and arrange on the t-shirt
Step 13: We used 340 degrees for -10-15 seconds. Allow to cool and remove plastic
Shape the Bottom of the T-Shirt
Step 14: With the t-shirt inside out, fold the bottom seam up 1 inch, insert the elastic inside the fold and secure around the top of the seam with the glue back around to where you started, ensuring the elastic is not glued.
Step 15: Leave an unsecured section of the folded seam and tie the ends of elastic in a loose knot that can be accessed through the seam.
Step 16: Once the costume is being worn, the elastic can be pulled tighter to create a puffy effect along the bottom of the t-shirt.
You Will Need
* Black Long Sleeved T-Shirt
* Two Pairs of Black Opaque Tights
* Yarn Needle
* Toy Stuffing
* Googly Eyes in Various Sizes
* Scissors
* Fabric Chalk or Pen
* Hot Glue Gun
* Ribbon (Optional)
* Black Yarn
* Sewing Needle
* Black Thread
Body
Lay out your tshirt so that you can see how long the sleeves are. Then lay out your tights and cut off the legs so that they are slightly shorter than the t-shirt sleeves.
Using toy stuffing, evenly stuff your tight legs, leaving a few centimetres at the end for closing.
Repeat for the other set of tights, so that you have a total of four extra legs.
Now close off all of your legs either by sewing them shut or using a hot glue gun.
Using the tshirt seams as a guide, attach evenly along the shirt using a hot glue gun or by sewing.
Thread some black yarn onto a yarn needle and thread through each arm in turn to join them together. Knot the yarn in between each leg so that it does not slip. Repeat on the other side.
Optional: Glue black ribbon around the joins between the legs and body to make them look less messy.
Hat
Take the leftover part of one of your sets of tights and draw a semicircle shape around the crotch area. Cut this shape out.
Turn inside out and sew or hot glue gun along the line you just cut, leaving the waistband open.
Glue the googley eyes on one side of the hat.

You Will Need
* A4 Felt Sheets - 10x Cashmere
* Natural Raffia
* Glue Gun and Glue
* Hardwood Dowel 1/2 x 36 inches
Broomstick
Step 1: Glue the felt sheets one by one around one end of the wooden dowel. Use them in portrait mode, so the brooms bristles are as long as possible. Make sure the dowel does not stick out of the bottom of the felt. The felt sheets need to overlap themselves. Avoid the cut edges being in the same place each time. Glue the top 3cms only at the top of the felt, where it meets the broom handle.
Step 2: Separate some raffia and tie (or glue) around where the top of the felt meets the dowel.
Step 3: Cut up the felt to form strips, these are the bristles of the broom.
Why not cut some spider's web netting material into a cape to go with your new brookstick!
