How to Crochet a Cowboy Hat

Knitcraft Cotton Blend in Hot Pink x 2
4mm Crochet Hook
Super Glue
Old Cowboy Hat
Abbreviations
Ch- chain
Dc- double crochet
Htr- half treble crochet
St- stitch
Htr2tog- half treble 2 stitches together
MB- Make bobble - work 5tr together into st.
Tension
16 sts and 13 rows to 10cm using 4mm hook and htr st.
Ch 18
Row 1:1htr in 2nd ch from hook, htr into each ch, turn. (17sts)
Row 2: 1ch, htr into each st to end, turn.
Repeat row 2 for approx. 21 rows or until the work fits along the top of the hat.
Next rnd: 1ch, work 3htr into first st, work 15htr along top, 3htr in last st, 25htr down side, 3htr into corner, 15htr along bottom, 3htr into corner, 25htr along final side, ss to join, turn. (92sts)
Next rnd: 1ch, htr into each st, ss to join, turn.
Repeat last rnd until there are 3 rows left to work before the work fits the top of the hat to the bend ending on a WS row.

Next rnd: 1ch, htr into each st, ss to join, turn.

Fasten off.
Using the glue, place a small amount along the top and shaped sides.
Place the top and brim over the hat and press down where the glue is to secure in place.
Make sure that the hat is in the correct position before doing this.
Now start to dc around the edge of the brim, inserting the hook into the the corresponding stitches from the top and the bottom sections of the brim using a dc or ss if preferred.
Secure and sew in any ends.
Using the glue, secure the edges of the under brim to the hat.
