How to Crochet a Pumpkin - Free Pattern
These crochet pumpkins will look great in your home throughout Autumn and they can be reused each year! Using DK yarn you can hook up a group of these pumpkins in no time.
They would make a great centre piece for your table or just dotted around the house. Follow our simple, and free, pattern to get making!

Ch- Chain
Dc- Double crochet
Ss- Slip stitch
St – Stitch
Dec2tog – Decrease 2 stitches together
Pattern Notes
Before starting please divide 'Yarn A' into 2 balls as you will be working with 2 ends throughout the pattern
Yarn A - Orange
Yarn B - Black
How to make
Using 2 strands of ‘Yarn A’ and 5mm hook, make a MC.
Round 1: 6dc into MC. (6dc)
Rnd 2: 2dc into each st around. (12dc)
Rnd 3: *1dc, 2dc into next st* rep around. (18dc)
Rnd 4: *2dc, 2dc into next st* rep around. (24dc)
Rnd 5: *3dc, 2dc into next st* rep around. (30dc)
Rnd 6: *4dc, 2dc into next st* rep around. (36dc)
Rnd 7: *5dc, 2dc into next st* rep around. (42dc)
Rnd 8 – 17: Dc in each st around. (42dc)
Rnd 18: *5dc, dc2tog* rep around. (36dc)
Rnd 19: *4dc, dc2tog* rep around. (30dc)
Rnd 20: *3dc, dc2tog* rep around. (24dc)
Rnd 21: *2dc, dc2tog* rep around. (18dc)
Rnd 22: *1dc, dc2tog* rep around. (12dc)
Begin to stuff with toy stuffing.
Rnd 23: *Dc2tog* rep around. (6dc)
Rnd 24: *Dc2tog* rep around. (3dc)
Fasten off leaving a long tail. This will become the base of the pumpkin.
Stem
Using ‘Yarn B’ and 4mm hook, ch4 and join into the round with a SS.
Rnd 1-5: ch1, 4dc, ss into 1st dc. (4dc)
Rnd 6: ch1, dc2tog, twice, ss into 1st dc. (2dc)
Fasten off.
Finishing
Using a darning needle and 1 end of yarn from the tail, insert needle into the centre of the top of the pumpkin and pull through to the bottom of the pumpkin. Pull tight and secure with a knot using the other end of the tail that is not in use. Repeat this 7 more times, leaving you with 8 sections creating the pumpkin shape.
Fasten off and weave in the end.

Using 4mm hook and yarn B, ch4 and join into the round with a SS.
Rnd 1-5: 1ch, 4dc, ss into 1st dc. (4dc)
Rnd 6: 1ch, dc2tog, twice, ss into 1st dc. (2dc)
