How to make

Step 1

Fold five A6 card blanks. Apply double-sided tape to all edges on the front of four card blanks – being careful not to get tape on score line.

Step 2

Attach cards together to form the star card as follows.

Stick the front of 1st card to back of 5th card (5th card has no tape on it).

Continue to stick cards together – i.e., stick front of 2nd card to back of 1st card and so on.

DO NOT stick final front and back together.

You now have five cards stuck together that open to be a star and close to a book.

Step 3

To make a fastening for the card use double-sided tape to stick a piece of ribbon to front, around folded spine and along card back, leaving long enough tails at both ends to allow the card to be tied. (The ribbon will be hidden at a later stage).

Step 4

To decorate each page cut 12 silver rectangles, each measuring 10 x 14.2 cm and 12 rectangles from patterned paper, each measuring 9.5 x 13.7 cm. Use double-sided tape to stick a piece of patterned paper to each silver rectangle.

Step 5

With double-sided tape attach a rectangle to the front and back of card (this will hide the ribbon and hold it in place). Continue to stick rectangles to each inside page.

Step 6

Use patterned papers, toppers, stickers and more to decorate and personalise each page.

Top Tip

Why not use the card as a photo memory book and fill in any blank spaces with photos of of special memories or ephemera.
