This pattern uses Intarsia Crochet – when changing colour begin by inserting your hook into the last stitch before the colour change, yo and pull through. Now leave the yarn at the back of the work and pick up the new colour, yo and pull through both loops. You can now start working in the new colour. Leave the unused colour at the back of the work until you need it on the next row. Make sure to always leave the unused colours on the WS of the work. Repeat for each colour change.
