How to Make a Heat Embossed Card
Bring a stunning, textured element to handmade Christmas cards with heat embossing techniques!
If you want to learn a new papercraft technique, heat embossing should definitely be at the top of your list. Add shiny accents to wooden toppers and create stamped sentiments using a heat tool, ink pad and your choice of embossing powder – there are loads to choose from!

Cut 5 x 5 inch square of handmade paper.
Attach to the front of a 5 x 7" card blank with double-sided tape.
Cut a border from striped handmade paper and attach it at the top of a patterned paper on the card front.
Cover the wooden 'Merry Christmas' topper with embossing ink. and then apply gold embossing powder. Tap off the exces powder and place the excess powder back into the pot.
Working quickly, apply gold embossing powder to the wooden topper. Tap off the exces powder and place the excess powder back into the pot.
Use a heat tool to set the embossing powder.
The heat from the tool will melt the powder and once cooled provides an enamel effect.
Glue the 'Merry Christmas' wooden toppoer to the front of the card using tacky glue.
To complete the card's design add gems to the middles of the flowers on the patterned paper.
Your card is then ready to be sent out to your loved ones!
