How To Make a Natural Dye Ombre Bag
Natural dyes are increasing in popularity as we find new ways to reuse everyday items. From avocados to carrots, there are so many ways to make your own natural dyes. We're showing you how to get started with using avocados to create an ombré tote bag.

1 Canvas bag Stones and skins from 2 medium-size avocado
Apon+gloves
1 pot
1 bowl
1 sieve
1 piece of muslin cloth
Before you start, wash your bag to eliminate any layers of oil or chemicals.
1. Make sure you are wearing an apron and gloves
2. Add the 2 stones and ripped skins in a pot with enough water to cover them. PIC 1 Simmer for 45-60 minutes.
3. Wait to cool down
4. Place a wet muslin cloth on top of the sieve and the bowl, sieve the ingredients. PIC 2
5. Pour the liquid dye back into the pot.
6. Wet your bag by soaking it in water for about 30 minutes.
7. Add the pot back into the hob, add some water and simmer the dye for 30 minutes.
8. Switch off the hob and add the bag on the side, half into the liquid dye. PIC 3
9. Leave it in there between 4-12 hours, depending on the colour shade you want. The longer you keep it in the dye the stronger your colour will be. PIC 4
10. Once you are happy with the colour, squeeze the liquid from the bag and let it dry over the bath/shower. PIC 5
11. Once dry, iron the bag and it's ready to use
