How to make

Step-1
Decide how you want to lay out your hanging; place your branch or dowel on the floor and a variety of stars in different sizes in columns underneath. Decide how much space you want in between the stars.
Step-2
Paint half of your stars – we painted all the mache stars – with white acrylic paint. Leave to dry. Cut off any hanging loops.
Step-3
Using PVA glue, paint a thin layer of glue over the surface of your polystyrene stars and then sprinkly with gold glitter until completely covered. Cut off any hanging loops.
Step-4
Now you need to attach your stars. Tie your invisible thread to the branch or dowel and cut to your preferred length for hanging – we went for roughly 50cm in length.
Step-5
Attach your stars by using a glue gun on the back of the star and then sticking onto the invisible thread – repeat at intervals down your thread.
Step-6
Repeat step 5 across your dowel until you have done all the columns.
Step-7
Finally, attach a length of invisible thread, ribbon or twine as a hanging loop by tying a long length of it at either end of the branch/dowel.
