How to make

Step 1

To begin, download the free Autumn Wooden Slice template file and prepare your wooden slice by painting it white, leaving about 1cm unpainted around the edge. Let it dry thoroughly.

Step 2
Open Cricut Design Space, go to the canvas, click on ‘Upload’, select ‘Browse Files’ and upload the Log Slice file. Click ‘Select’ on the toolbar and tap the white background to remove it (don’t forget the holes in the A, O and T), then click ‘Apply’. Select the version that says ‘Cut’ underneath it, name your image and upload it. Click ‘Make It’, select ‘On Mat’ and click ‘Confirm’. Select your material and follow the instructions.
Step 3
When your vinyl is cut, remove the unneeded pieces of vinyl, leaving just your stencil. Cut a piece of transfer tape to the same size, peel off the backing and place it over your vinyl. Use your scraper tool to press the vinyl firmly onto the transfer tape.

Step 4
Turn it over and peel away the backing, leaving your vinyl stuck to your transfer tape. Position it over the wooden slice and press down use the scraper to stick it down firmly. Carefully peel away the transfer tape and make sure your stencil is stuck down really well.

Step 5
Paint in the leaves and text with the flame acrylic paint. Leave it to dry before carefully peeling away the stencil. Tidy up any edges that bled with the white paint.
