You Will Need

* 12 x 12" Sheet Cake (flavour of your choice)

* Clear Roun Glass Jars (300ml)

* 400g Buttercream Icing

* Gel Food Colouring - Strawberry, Orange, Coral, Lemon and Red

* Bright Sprinkles

* Circle Cookie Cutter or Knife

* Piping Bag

* Large Drop Flower Decorating Tip

Step 1
Make or buy the 12" x 12" sheet cake.
Step 2
Cut disks from the sheet cake using the small circle cutter (approximately 6.5cm diameter). If your cake is quite thick you can split the rounds in half with a bread knife.

Step 3
For an ombre effect, divide the frosting between 3 bowls and colour each a different shade with the food colourings.
Step 4

Start with a disk of cake at the bottom of each jar.

 

Load up your piping bag, fitted with a 2D drop flower nozzle, with your first colour of frosting.

 

Pipe a layer of frosting on top of the cake disk inside the jar.

 

Top with another disk of cake and repeat for each jar.

Step 5
Repeat the process with the next colour of frosting topped with a third disk of cake.

Step 6

Finally, pipe your last colour of frosting on the top and add sprinkles to finish.

 

You could experiment with different cake flavours, coloured sponges and different fillings like jam, fruit curd or fresh fruit.
