Felt is one of the easiest and most fun craft products to work with, and ideal for Christmas projects. I used some felt to make pretty little felt Christmas trees that look great stood together in the centreƂ of your table or mantelpiece! If you're in the mood for some more colourful Christmas decorations, try making them in brightly coloured or patterned felt.

How to make

Step-1
Draw around the base of your cone onto the felt sheet. I have used green felt with specks of gold glitter.
Step-2
Cut out the shape and using a glue gun stick to the underside of your cone.

Step-3
Cut a 4 cm wide strip of felt and glue around the bottom part of the tree.

Step-4
Cut another 4cm strip of felt and then cut it into triangles. These will become the branches of your tree.
Step-5
Carefully glue your triangles on one at a time with the point facing down on the cone. I used the line of my base piece of felt already stuck on the tree as a guide to get me started. Occasionally alternate between the glittery and non-glittery side of the felt sheet. If you aren't using the glitter felt then you could always use lots of different colours for your triangles.

Step-6
Continue sticking the triangles working your way up the cone so that there are no gaps, positioned so that the triangle slightly overlaps the one below and to the side of it. You will need to keep repeating Step Two to ensure you have enough triangles as you go along.

Step-7
When you are getting close to the top of your tree cut a 4 cm x 4 cm piece of felt. Use a glue gun to cover the back of the felt and place centrally over the top of your cone. Gently, and being careful to avoid burning yourself on hot glue, push the felt down so it wraps around the top of the cone.
Step-8
Allow the glue to set for a few minutes.
Step-9
Once you have reached the top of the tree with the triangles, you can either leave the top rounded or you can use three more triangles to completely cover the cone.
Step-10
You are now ready to decorate your tree! Push as many pins as you want into the tree and vary the colours where possible.
Step-11
Your tree is now complete!
