* Wooden Macramé Ring
* Decorative Cinnamon Sticks
* Fabric Scissors
* Kraft Crackers
* Brush
* Pins or Tape to secure
 

How to Make

Cracker Decoration One - Step 1

Cut 6 x 60cm lengths of yarn.

 

Fold each length in half and attach them to the cinnamon stick with a larks head knot.

 

Cut 1 x 40cm length and thread it in between the centre knots and join the two ends with a knot – you can use this to tie the finished piece to the cracker.

Secure the work down using pins or tape.

 

Using string 1 as a guide, create a diagonal row of double half hitch knots using strings 2-6.

Repeat on the other side using string 12 as a guide.

Repeat steps 3-4 once more.

Create a final double half hitch knot with both guides.

 

Then, brush the remaining fringe.

Complete by cutting the fringe into a straight line.

Cut 7 x 50cm lengths of your yarn.

 

Thread one length through the ring and secure to the work surface.

Fold each length in half and attach 3 strings to each side of the hanging string using the Lark’s Head Knot.

Flip the ring over and weave each length over and under each other to create a woven look. Make sure to alternate the weaving over and under with each string.

Flip the ring back over to the right side and begin working from the left to the centre, attach each string to the ring using a double half hitch knot.

Repeat on the other side.

Trim your fringing to the desired length for your cracker.
