How to make
Scarf
Using ‘Yarn A’ and 8mm hook, ch19.
Row 1: 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, *tr, dc* rep across. (18sts) (You should finish on a dc stitch.)
Row 2: Ch2, *tr, dc* rep across. (18sts)
Row 3 – 158: repeat row 2.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Your scarf should measure about 2.60m long. You can add or remove rows to change the length of your scarf as desired, ensuring you have enough length to make the pockets in the next step.
Pockets
Lay your scarf flat and fold up one end towards the centre by about 22cm to create your pockets. Attach your yarn to the bottom right corner of the pocket and dc up the seam. When you get to the top of the pocket turn and ss across the opening (do not sew shut). Continue the dc seam down the left-hand side of the pocket.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Repeat for the 2nd pocket.
Tassels
Cut 4 x 45cm lengths of ‘Yarn B’, hold them together and fold in half. Insert your hook from back to front through the first stitch gap on the bottom edge of one of your pockets. Place the centres of your cut ‘Yarn B’ and pull them through the stitch gap slightly. Thread the other end of your cut yarn through the loop you just made, and then pull the yarn to secure.
Repeat all the way along the bottom of both pockets.
Your pocket rocket wrap scarf is now complete, so wrap it round yourself, tuck your hands into your pockets and feel the cosy!
