You will need
* Sawgrass Sublimation Machine
* Mug Press
* Sublimation Mug Paper
* Mug Blank (We used an 11oz mug)
* Butcher Paper
* Heat Resistant Tape
* Scissors
* Heat Resistant Gloves
* A Sawgrass Creative Studio Account (If you don’t already have an account, you can sign up for free at www.sawgrassink.com)
Firstly, find a suitable design for your mug, or create your own! You can do this using Canva, Adobe Illustrator or Procreate. Sawgrass Creative Studio also has lots of design templates that can be used if you prefer.
Next, log in to your Sawgrass Creative Studio account. Once logged in, click 'new creation'. In the search bar, search for Hobbycraft and select the 11oz ceramic mug. From here you can either upload your design or create one using the templates within the Creative Studio.
Click on your design so you can re-size the image to fit your mug. You can use the scale slider on the right-hand side of the screen or just click on the bottom right square and drag out the design.
Add any other design elements you would like, such as text or additional images and place them wherever you would like within the template.
You can use the 3D preview option to see your design as it will look on the mug. When you are happy with it, make sure to save your design, and then click 'print'.
In the print settings, select to mirror your design and make sure your paper size matches the sublimation paper you are using. Ensure that your sublimation paper is loaded into your printer bright side facing down, and then click 'print'.
Once your design is printed, switch on your mug press so that it has a chance to warm up.
Cut any excess paper from your design and then tape it to the mug using heat resistant tape. Ensure that the paper is smooth and taped tightly to the mug.
Tape on a layer of butcher paper over the top as an extra layer of protection. When your mug press has heated up, place your mug inside it and press.
When the timer has gone off, use heat-proof gloves to remove your mug from the press. It will be extrememly hot so make sure you leave it to cool down fully before removing the papers.
Your personalised Christmas mug is now complete!
