Cabled cardigan
I loved the look of this cardigan and was keen to get started. However, despite being quite an experienced knitter of 55 years, I struggled following the instructions after the initial 10 row pattern because of the m1 - it was only after 3 attempts at knitting and 5 times writing it out as a chart did I finally get it right and then it was was like lift-off. Front left & right done, back done, just the sleeves. What I really like about this pattern is that only 1 size needles used and no separate ribbing.

Clear instructions but challenging pattern.
I love the pattern of this cardigan/ jacket and as I’m back knitting after a 30 year break I think I might have been a bit ambitious choosing to knit this with cable stitch and edging. There’s so much counting and I did need to phone a friend to clarify a few of the patterns instructions. I even watched casting on and making a stitch on YouTube!
I’m about half way through the front left( first) side and so far I’ve only had to redo one or two lines!
In short it’s a lovely pattern but maybe not for a beginner! I’m going to persevere however!

Love the style
I love the style of this jacket, a little bit different and classy. I have worked an extra 10 rows to give it the length that I need as I'm tall.

Quantity guide misleading
Lovely pattern but unfortunately the pattern says it takes 2 balls of wool for the small size which I purchased only to find there wasn’t enough ,I was a whole sleeve short so had to order another ball which was a different dye number luckily with it being marble affect you can’t really tell my knitting tension was correct

Knitting Pattern
At first I had to keep studying the pattern and then it came clear as to how to work the pattern, then I was sailing through my knitting.

Love this pattern
I haven’t knitted this yet but I have made two of the James Brett cardigans with the hassles on. They were easy to knit and look great so I’m pleased to find another one of his patterns that I like.
