Excellent value, instructions could be clearer
I bought these as a summer holiday activity for my kids age 8 and 10. They are really good value for money and nice sturdy kits with attractive designs. The only weak point is the instructions, which lack useful details such as how to start and finish off, plus an explanation of the border you're supposed to include round the edge. Also the pattern is pretty hard for a kid to follow. So long as you have an adult available to assist with reading the pattern, they're great. The plastic needles are easy for kids to thread and the plastic grid is easier to sew on than fabric for a beginner, as it doesn't bend and crumple.

Disappointed
I appreciate that this was inexpensive, but in the kids section selling something without clear instructions was disappointing to find. My son wanted to try cross stitch for the first time and we had to put this to one side as we couldn't work out where to put the stitches ( and I do know how to cross stitch)

My grandchildren found this very hard to do. Very hard to copy. Instructions did not really help.

Great pocket money set
Bought for my 8yo who had been asking to do cross stitch after seeing my work. Great starter, instructions could be clearer as the graph is tiny and anyone who has no experience may struggle to get started

This product was disappointing
The design is nice but there is no actual pattern provided, you have to use the photograph on the front of the packet as a guide which is not helpful for showing a child how to cross stitch. Also the photograph of the design has more rows of cross stitch than you can do on the plastic grid provided. I would not buy this again.

Childs/beginners cross stitch picture
Great starter kit to get a child interested in cross stitch. My only concern is that there is not enough information to get you started. All you are shown is how to do one cross. Ideally it should show more stitches and how to change colours mid picture. Remember this is intended for a novice.

I bought this as a starter kit for my 8 year old and not only is the plastic canvas to small for the picture item it dosent include a chart so I know have a very disappointed little girl who has lost interest in doing stitching. Not happy very disappointed
