Rated 5 out of 5 by Heatherg from Much, much better than expected Bought this to seal some freehand diamond painting to a mask that my daughter had done for a college project. Because the piece hasn't been preglued she used pva to stick them and a few diamonds had been falling off. The mask was to be used in a stage show - so it was important that it was robust. Bought two sealants - the other being a spray from a DIY store. I was concerned that the sealants might dull the sparkle on the diamonds and did a test piece. They were both good but this one keep the shine slightly better and was easier to make sure it got into all the crevices- the spray not so good. There is a bit of a wait for it to dry compared to the spray (she left it overnight to be sure) - but it was worth it for the knowledge that every diamond had been coated and sealed.

They used diluted gloss Mod podge and kitchen roll to achieve the effect. Once dry and painted - 3 coats of Pebeo Acrylic Gloss Varnish were painted on, which created a good water effect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by steve Southend A from Unbuyable imported products I tried to buy some gloss varnish. NOWHERE on the bottle, in print that can be read without a microscope. I picked up a bottle of apparently clear gloss varnish. Luckily, withy much difficulty, and the use of the camera on my phone, I found the word crackling so it wasn't suitable for my needs. All the bottles were mixed up, where people have looked then put back. I tried the model making paints. Again nothing readable on the tins. If you are going to sell cheap, imported products at least buy some with readable, English descriptions on. It wasn't just the varnish. All the paints from this particular supplier were the same.

Works best for me if I add water otherwise it's pretty thick if you use it straight from the bottle and can leave brush strokes. Like I said, dilute with water and it's perfect as you only need a small amount so one bottle lasts ages. Impressed.
