The economical, reliable pickup truck T3 was manufactured from 1979. As the last type with a rear engine made by VW, it was regarded as the last real Bulli. Depending on the version, its four-cylinder offered 50 to 112 hp. As usual, the transporter appeared in various commercial vehicle versions, but the Joker from the Gütersloh-based company Westfalia was particularly popular.

Over 70,000 copies of this home on wheels have been sold, testifying to its great popularity at home and abroad. Its comfortable living room with integrated driver's cab had a complete kitchen unit, seating and lying areas, storage cupboards and a practical pop-up roof.
