Useful sewing ruler
It is difficult to find a 1 metre sewing ruler at a reasonable price so this fits the bill. Nice to have metal ends so the wood can't split but the metal conceals the first centimetre and a half and the last 1+1/2 . If you want to measure a metre of material then mark a small seam allowance at the same time it is difficult to work out where to mark. The other side of the ruler's markings ends at 36 inches too so it's impossible to compare cm to ins over 36 inches.
It would be more functional to have ( dare I say it ) clear plastic ends so that the markings were clearly visible or just add a few more cm onto each end of the ruler so that the markings are not concealed by the metal ends.

A must for every sewer
A metre sick is, for me, an essential piece of equipment. This has centimetres/ millimetres and inches clearly marked, it has a fair depth to it so it's not at all flimsy and, helpfully, a little hole (like quilting templates have) so it can be hung up. The price was fantastic- my Mister has paid more in a building supplies for a very similar one so I'm very pleased. Great for all sewing disciplines and for measuring large pieces of paper/ card for trimming ready to go into electronic cutting machine. All in all a very useful buy.

Easy to use
Usually use plastic flexible tape for measuring, but using this wooden ruler for craft products is a lot easier. More accurate lines and easier to draw straight lines. A must for craft work!

I make children's dresses that usually involve very frilly attachments and this metre ruler has made cutting the very long strips of fabric so much easier

Useful tool
This metre rule is very useful for measuring lengths, such as curtains. I use mine for helping me to cut straight lines too.
